liNux on my iPod Nano! (^_^)

it's cool! it has lotsa games! the mp3 playback support is kinda weird though, like upon exit fromthe "Playlist" menu, the music stops..so you can't play games while feeding your ears with your favorite music..weird ey!?!..but the cool thing though is that installing it doesn't remove your Apple iPod..you get to dualboot on your iPod! you're to choose between a graphical bootloader or a standard bootloader... here is all you need to know...and below are some personal experiences and suggestions which might be helpful...

...it is quite impossible to permanently render your iPod unusable in the process, BUT you must backup your Apple iPod firmware. backing-up will be a no-brainer as you are provided with an option to do so along the installation process..if you fail to backup for some reason unknown to man, download updater here

...if in the process, you loose all your data (lalalas/pix/vids), reboot your iPod to Apple then reload your data from there using iTunes...i did try loading them within iPodLinux but to no avail

...if the installation constantly fails..do try again..you will first feel pain with the loss of your data..but you will eventually be numb..NO PAIN, NO GAIN!

...last but not the least, ENJOY! just try to feel it..linux on your iPod..ahhhhh, it's bliss man(jamaican)..the momentary (lasting for about 10 secs) joy is unimaginable..incomprehensible..after which you would want it uninstalled coz you can't play games while listening to good music..seriously, it's cool! kudos to the developers!
